When it comes to hair care products, the amount of choice is completely insane. Aisles and aisles of products that we supposedly need to take care of our hair. Especially for teens, this can be overwhelming, when everything in commercials and on social media is focused on selling as much stuff as possible, it can be difficult to figure out what you really need.
Because in the end, there are only a few products that we really need to take care of our hair, but they need to be the right products. So, to make that selection a little easier, here are 6 hair care products that every teen needs:
Shampoo & Conditioner
This one is obvious, right? You probably figured out you need shampoo and conditioner for your teen. However, they need to be the right type of shampoo and conditioner. And, in order to select the right type, there are a few things you need to take into account: hair type, scalp type (dry vs. oily), hair texture, ingredients and how often you tend to wash your hair.
Next is having access to a good dry shampoo. Sometimes we just don´t have time in the morning to wash, dry and style our hair and this is where dry shampoo comes in. Or, maybe it is just part of your hair that needs a touch-up. With dry shampoo you can easily give that treatment.
Hair mask and scalp treatment
Once in a while, it is good to give your hair an extra treatment by using a hair and dependent on your scalp type also a scalp treatment. The health of your hair starts at your scalp, so you will want to take care of that as well. Every once in a while, your scalp needs a good cleansing to complement other hair treatments. And a nice hair mask every week or so, is definitely something your hair will appreciate.
As the name indicates, this spray is meant to stay in your hair. The idea is to spray your hair when it is wet after the shower so it will be easier to detangle and will protect it from possible heat treatments such as the blow dryer or hair straightener. Your hair will feel more moisturized and will get a nice shine to it as well.
With these basics, your teen should definitely be able to establish a good haircare routine, so without complicating things, we would recommend starting with this handful.
